Mandate
The ALCES Group was formed to facilitate an informed and balanced dialogue by stakeholders on both the merits and liabilities of landuse practices. This mandate has required the development of both computer simulations tools (ALCES) and the refinement of an engagement process by which stakeholders learn to explore how alternative landuse scenarios affect social, economic, and ecological outcomes on their regional landscapes.
The ALCES Group works directly with all relevant landuse stakeholder groups (Government, Industry, Non-Profit Organizations, First Nations, Environmental) through the creation of a system approach to problem solving.
