Model Inputs

The initial composition of the study area originates with spatial data. Once the spatial summaries are complete, they can be loaded directly into ALCES or entered into the "AlcesInput" MS Excel file. Once the initial landbase composition is entered, the user enters information concerning natural processes (fire, hydrology, meteorology), and landuse activity patterns (forestry, energy, transportation, agriculture, recreation, human settlements, etc.) by using a combination of input tables and graphic input devices. These input devices are associated with all landuse and natural process panels found in ALCES. Default and user-defined inputs are assembled into a single collection of tables found by clicking on the "Sector Assumptions" Table.
